We are pleased to announce that the DIVERSIFAIR Project has been selected as one of 50 projects to participate in the AI Action Summit, organised by the Paris Peace Forum.
Chosen from a competitive pool of 770 applications frobm 111 countries, DIVERSIFAIR will be featured as part of an initiative to promote the ethical and responsible use of artificial intelligence.
The AI Action Summit, scheduled to take place on 10-11 February 2025 in Paris, aims to highlight international projects that leverage AI to address critical societal challenges. This initiative reflects growing global interest in ensuring that artificial intelligence is developed and implemented in ways that prioritise human well-being and inclusivity.
Global Context and Selection Highlights
The Paris Peace Forum’s Call for AI Projects attracted submissions from around the world, underscoring the diverse potential applications of AI in tackling pressing issues. The 50 selected projects represent 28 countries, with a strong emphasis on participation from the Global South. These initiatives address a range of topics, including accessibility for the visually impaired, combating online violence, advancing health diagnostics, and fostering ethical technology governance.
Key statistics from the selection process include:
- 770 applications submitted from 111 countries;
- 50 projects selected, with representation from six regions: Europe, North America, Africa, Central & Latin America, Middle East & North Africa, and Asia.
- Projects span multiple themes, such as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), governance and ethics, trust and security, and work and well-being.
